FRS651 - FORENSIC CHEMICAL ANALYSIS

Students failing a module, and who need to complete a coursework component, must make contact with the relevant lecturer.

UNIVERSITI TEKNOLOGI MARA
Course Name (English) FORENSIC CHEMICAL ANALYSIS
Course Code FRS651
MQF Credit 4
Course Description This course gives the student a basic understanding of analytical techniques such as spectroscopic and chromatographic techniques which have been vastly used for the analysis of various forensic evidence. The lectures include the theories of various chemical analytical techniques used in forensic science and the applications of these techniques in forensic investigation. The outcomes shall be assessed through a variety of tools which include the final examination, tests, laboratory reports and presentation of case study.
Transferable Skills Students should be able to:
1. analyze evidences by applying fundamental knowledge of chemistry and forensic science.
2. safely prepare sample and operate laboratory equipment when conducting experiments.
3. design and conduct chemistry and forensic chemical analysis experiments and interpret data.
4. apply techniques and skills in solving chemistry and forensic related problems.
Teaching Methodologies Lectures, Lab Work, Presentation
