| Course Description |
This course investigates the typographic principles and explores a variety of functional, expressive, and formal typographic issues. Perceptual, emotional, and stylistic considerations are covered in relation to specific concepts and a high level of typographic refinement and attention to detail is expected and determined through critique and group discussions. Through a series of lectures, individual and group projects, students develop technical skills by concentrating on how typographic form creates and supports content. Course topics will include terminology, history, readability, legibility, aesthetics, perception, and technical issues related to typography and graphic communication. |
