| Course Description |
The course aims to introduce psychology to students as a broad exciting field rich in its
application for everyday life. It provides an introduction to the concepts, theories, and
research behind the study of human thought, emotion, and behavior. Topics will include
psychology and its historical foundations, cognitions, emotions, learning, stress and
health, human development, personality, psychological disorders, psychotherapies,
biological foundations of behavior, and social behavior. The various topics covered
should help students to understand their behavior as well as that of others and at the
same time to help them to recognize the interdependence of behavior with cognitive and
physiological processes. Emphasis also will be placed on the application of psychology
to diverse human endeavors.
