INTRODUCTION TO MECHANICS
|
Course Code |
MAT272 |
Course Description |
This course is an introductory course for students majoring in mathematical sciences at diploma level. Along with other courses in mathematics taken at diploma level, this course serves as giving a complete exposure of mathematics, theoretically as well as applied. It introduces the basic concepts and applications in mechanics such
as force, resolution, and decomposition of forces, equilibrium of a system of forces, moment, motion, velocity, and acceleration in a straight line, projectile and Newton’s law of motion. This course gives early exposure to application of mathematics and would be helpful to prepare students for further studies after diploma. |
Transferable Skills |
Demonstrate ability to identify and articulate self skills, knowledge and understanding confidently and in a variety of contexts. Demonstrates the ability to dream, imagine and visualize. Demonstrate ability to apply creative, imaginative and innovative thinking and ideas to problem solving. |
Teaching Methodologies |
Lectures, Blended Learning, Tutorial, Collaborative Learning |
