Course Description The program in O&G is designed to provide firm background in the essential of women's health. Through a combination of didactic instruction and supervised clinical experience , students will acquire the relevant clinical skills of history taking & physical examination and learn reproductive physiology; antepartum, intrapartum and postpartum obstetric care; and recognition and management of various gynaecologic disorders. Year 5 is aminly consolidation of the foundation laid in Year 3 with emphasis in the management of infertility, urologic diseases and gynaecological malignancies. In addition students will be exposed to population health issues and ethical issues related to filed of obstetrics amd gynaecology. The students will function as a " junior house-officer" and participate in the management round, on-call duty and assisting in the operating theatre. Most of the learning strategies will revolve around real life or simulated learning processes

CLO1 Further enhancement of the knowledge that was learned during year 3 including assessment of clinical problems, formulating a diagnosis, indications of investigations and procedures and management of the problems. (Year 3 Specific objectives 1- 8)
CLO2 Improve on clinical skills including obstetric abdominal examination, conduct of deliveries, episiotomy repairs, speculum examination, Pap test, taking genital swabs and female urinary catheterization.
CLO3 Enhancement of professional development including communication, inter-professional relationships, disease prevention and sense of responsibility.
CLO4 Develop and understanding of sexual and mental health issues.
CLO5 Develop an understanding of ethical dilemmas and be able to describe and approach to issues in which the medical practitioner’s ethical stance is at variance with that of a patient.
CLO6 Have knowledge of the 'normal' situation and the common abnormal conditions in obstetrics and gynaecology
