Course Description |
This course is designed to introduce students to Malay traditional music with emphasis on the kompang, caklempong and traditional Malay gamelan genres. Topics will cover the historical aspects, function, instruments, repertoire, and performance practice of these ensembles. Students will experience playing musical instruments in three basic traditional ensemble of kompang, Malay gamelan and caklempong. |
